PRESIDENT GOODLUCK ADDRESSES THE NATION

President Goodluck Jonathan addressed the nation on Sunday via a program tagged Presidential Media Chat discussing the current crisis facing the country and also the efforts of the
Nigerian government in curbing these crisis.

Speaking on the issue of insecurity in the country, President Goodluck Jonathan said that his administration his working very hard to reduce the insurgent drastically. Adding that, the Nigerian government is seeking international support in curbing the problem of insecurity in the country.
While addressing the problem of constant power supply within the country, the President said that though there are challenges facing the power sector such as shortage of gas, meters among others. He however assured Nigerians that the power sector will continue to get better.

"Nollywood has contributed enormously to the development of Nigeria’s economy" said President Goodluck Jonathan while speaking on the Nigeria’s GDP figures that was released recently.
Speaking on the issue of the just concluded economy rebasing, the president said that there are evidence from the office of Statutory General of Federation to show for the statistics that was released recently. Adding that the figures released were not forged figures. It will be recalled that the figures of the rebasing released by the office of statutory General of the Federation raised some questions among Nigerians.

He however said that "no government in the world can employ all it citizens but what we're doing is to create an enabling environment to encourage the private sector"........
adding that his administration is working hard to ensure development of the country's infrastructures.

Speaking on the scarcity of Petroleum and speculated increase in the pump price, the President said that "I will not change the petroleum pump price through the back door, if I want to change the pump price I will do through the front door" adding that he had no intention of increasing the pump price at the moment.

Asking the President about the declaration of his presidential ambition in 2015 general election, he responded saying "the safety of the country is far more important than my declaration of 2015 general election ambition" he however said that his political party People's Democratic Party (PDP) is waiting for the declaration of the opposition party All Progressive Congress (APC) to declare their presidential candidate. Adding that, his party PDP owns the ship at the moment.
He also said that guaranteeing a free and fair election in a crisis erupt country would be difficult.
